I would like to take this opportunity to throw in a couple of completely unsolicited plugs for local attractions you should enjoy while in the Volcano Village area. First I encourage you to dine at the Ohelo Cafe, and visit Ira at the Volcano Garden Arts Gallery.
The Volcano Art Center Gallery located within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is also a great gallery and a must visit for the art lover. There are also plenty other local shops, restaurants and stores in the area that are worth a visit, the above simply represent my personal favorites.
HILO FARMERS MARKET
You can find me, Bowman, slinging Bowman INK hand block printed shirts and clothing are available at the world famous Hilo Farmers Market on some Wednesdays and most Saturdays from around 8 am to 3 pm or so. Besides the INK you will find a huge selection of fresh fruits and vegetables along with some great food trucks and piles and piles of stuff both locally hand crafted and not. Totally worth a visit to see one of the Big Islands biggest farmers markets.
KONA BOYS
I am super stoked to have a new location where you can score some Bowman INK hand and foot block printed clothing on the Kona Side. Before or after you hit the water you can drop by the Kona Boys Kealakekua Bay Surf Shack and get yourself some Bowman INK. Check out the Kona Boys website for more info on hours, location and such. Great folks are there for you at da Kona Boys who can hook you up with gear, tours and a smile.
